Garden & Nutrition Class February 15th 3pm-4:40pm The North Mason Timberland Library FREE! Ages 7-11 Come learn about nutrition and local agriculture at the library! In this hands-on workshop, participants will explore the concepts of healthy food choices and sustainability in decisions we make about what we eat. Kids will get to investigate a worm bin composting system, partake in a fun nutrition game, and listen to a garden-themed storytime. We are putting together two new Accessible P-Patch beds for folks with limited mobility and getting the rest of the garden tidied up. Volunteers will help us: fill beds with compost, prepare pathways for gravel, weed, and more. Bring your own gloves if you have them! We have gloves available if needed. Please dress for the weather. Join us at a Farm at Water’s Edge volunteer work party! Farm at Water’s Edge is a certified organic farm providing our community with seasonal, fresh produce on a donation only basis. It also serves as an education tool for students and demonstrates how responsible, sustainable agriculture can coexist with salmon habitat. This is a great opportunity to support this community resource, as well as ask any of your garden questions to our knowledgeable staff and participating volunteers!
