Do not open attachments or click on links if you are not expecting them. ________________________________ Good Afternoon, I am reaching out as a concerned and frustrated citizen in regards to a motorhome that is illegally parked in the travel portion of a public roadway. The motorhome is located towards the end of S Dequesne by Kala Point and has been there since the end of January. Since it parked there two vehicles have also shown up and parked there and multiple others vehicles are always coming and going. Numerous neighbors have reported this to the Sheriffs Office multiple times and I have been told by a sheriff that they offered to the person living in it to tow it to another location on the county’s dime but the guy refused and apparently said he does not like the homeless camp that tax payer dollars had to pay for so they are just being allowed to stay there. Sheriff’s are stating their hands are tied due to some law because it is being lived in so is considered the persons home. My understanding of that law is that if a motorhome is parked illegally which this one is, it is not protected by the law so why is this being allowed? I also know someone personally who owns property just past where the motorhome is and they went there last week and the guy threatened to kick the persons a**. I have reached out to environmental health since there is no bathroom hookup but the person said they aren’t using the restroom on the trailer but instead going to gas stations which I don’t believe could be true with two adults and a small child living it it there is no way that they are driving to a gas station every time one of them needs to use the restroom. I also contact public works since it’s on a county road and they were no help. Neighbors around here who pay taxes and support the community are beyond frustrated with the county departments refusal to take proper action on this so I am really hoping that you as our commissioners can help.
