SUBJECT: Request to reappoint Wendy Feltham to serve a second 2-year term on
the North Pacific Coast Marine Resources Committee representing
the Scientific Community,through December 7', 2024.
STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
Public Health requests that the County Commissioners reappoint Wendy Feltham to a second 2-year term
on the North Pacific Coast Marine Resources Committee representing the Scientific Community through
December 7', 2024.
ANALYSIS/STRATEGIC GOALS/PRO'S and CON'S:
A vacancy on the North Pacific Coast Marine Resources Committee(NPC MRC)was advertised in The
Leader on January 4`t',2023. Ms. Feltham responded to the ad prior to the February 1, 2023 deadline and
she is the only candidate. Ms. Feltham has served since December 2020 with tremendous dedication and
consistency,and her reappointment would help maintain continuity and a high level of relevant expertise
within the program. Ms. Feltham's background is in education and co-founded the Jefferson Land Trust's
Natural History Society. She's completed the WSU Beachwatchers program in 2013 and is active in
several marine citizen science projects in Jefferson County.
FISCAL IMPACT/COST BENEFIT ANALYSIS:
There is no fiscal impact to the county's General Fund for reappointing Ms. Feltham to serve a second
term on the NPC MRC.
RECOMMENDATION:
Public Health requests that the County Commissioners reappoint Wendy Feltham to serve a 2°d 2-year term
on the North Pacific Coast Marine Resources Committee representing the Scientific Community through
December 7d',2024.
