HomeMy WebLinkAbout0223232 Action for weekend bridge closures________________________________ ALERT: BE CAUTIOUS This email originated outside the organization. Do not open attachments or click on links if you are not expecting them. ________________________________ Hi Greg, Kate, and Heidi, Thank you for advocating so well for Jefferson County. I am sad to hear that the state budgeted so little in time and resources for this project. These were the questions I heard that were nonstarters, but without data to back up why these wouldn't be considered. 1. Would WSDOT consider a Saturday @ 11PM through Tuesday @ 4AM? 2. Would WSDOT consider a schedule where 2 closures happened during the week, and 2 closures happened during the weekend to share (as Andrew said) the burden with commuters? 3. What about closure during some of the other 104 construction, to take advantage of getting work done simultaneously? Further action questions: Given the short notice of these impactful closures, what resources are needed to assist with uniform messaging and marketing around these closures at a county level? Will Jefferson and Clallam County plan a joint "backyard tourism" campaign? Would private passenger ferries have to be arranged through WSDOT or is that an option Jefferson County can explore without ferry terminal support? Thanks so much, being able to participate is really important.
