To Whom It May Concern:
I’m writing today in full support of DNR’s proposed protect of all 826 acres of state forests within the current boundaries of the Dabob Bay Natural Area remaining in your timber program.
My family has owned 60 acres of property just south of the current boundary for over 50 years and are familiar with the unique old forests on the East side of Dabob Bay including Lemonds
Forest, Lower Thorndyke Creek and the slopes and forests owned by DNR in the vicinity of our property. I am in favor of using the Trust Land Transfer process to permanently protect
these parcels as soon as possible.
In the years that our family has owned our property, we’ve enjoyed high water quality — both saltwater and fresh, eaten shellfish off our beach, witnessed wild animals in their natural
habitat and been sheltered by enormous trees. In order for future generations to enjoy these same privileges, we must act now to protect the health of these ecosystems.
Thank you for your time.
