To whom it may concern
Thank you for this opportunity to comment in support of DNR’s proposed 826 acre exchange of State Forest Land Trust Holding near Quilcene for equal valued parcel of Common Trust Forest
Land also in the Quilcene area. When complete this would allow the 826 acres to be transferred into the Dabob Bay Natural Resources Conservation Area.
This action will help to ensure the water quality of Dabob Bay which is significantly important to Taylor Shellfish who both farms shellfish and operates a shellfish hatchery on the
shoreline of the Dabob Bay. These shellfish activities require clean waters so that the shellfish can be sold and also to produce shellfish seed which is also vulnerable to contamination.
Our hatchery is one of the larger shellfish hatcheries in the world, supplying much of our own seed needs along with many other shellfish growers in the Northwest.
Sincerely
Bill Taylor
Taylor Shellfish, vice president
