Washington Health Care Authority (HCA) and Washington Department of Health (DOH) are formulating plans on how to spend the State's portion of this money Settlement funds must be spent on an Approved Use for fighting the opioid epidemic, per court order Opioid Settlement Funds Update In accordance with One Washington MOU, a Regional Opioid Abatement Council (OAC) was formed for local governments within the Salish Region to receive their funds. SBH-ASO will serve this function. Each county within the Salish Region has a distinct annual funding allocation. The settlement agreement notes data reporting requirements, however, specific details on data collection and reporting requirements have not yet been provided. Opioid Settlement Funds Update The first two Jefferson County ($34,504.34 and $36,262.38) payments have been received. It is anticipated that subsequent payments will be of similar amounts. Each county may choose how it wishes to expend these funds, in accordance with approved uses delineated in settlement (Exhibit E- List of Opioid Remediation Uses).
