This Pi Day we will feature special programming, community offerings, and our DJs will be awarding a pie to donors every hour from 7:30am to 10pm. The fund drive goal for the day is $3,141.59 ~ and for every dollar donated, it will be matched, so that your contribution will go twice as far just like it does when you share a pie with those you love. Our other goal is to add 15 new sustaining donors, each signed on to make a recurring monthly donation. One time donations are also welcome! Please tune in tomorrow for the chance each hour to be awarded a homemade, artisan pie ~ and we hope you will support your local community radio KPTZ 91.9 FM. On three back-to-back segments, they will share their perspectives and make recommendations to inform the wider citizenry. On Monday evening March 13, KPTZ presents two recorded half-hour programs addressing the current challenges and lack of housing in our community, hosted by KPTZ News Producer Jim Burke. • Housing Connections part 1 starts at 6pm to cover “What Is a Comprehensive Housing Plan and Why Does Port Townsend Need One?” and features Kim Herman, Peggy Webster and Naushard Cader. • At 6:30pm, Housing Connections part 2 discusses “Inclusionary Zoning Myths” and features Judy Alexander, Fred Kimball, and Kim Herman. • On Tuesday, March 14 from 6-7pm, as part of KPTZ’s Pi Day event, Housing Connections part 3 is a special live forum to address the challenging housing situation in our area, in an employer-focused panel discussion, moderated and hosted by Phil Andrus. The forum will include Jake Beattie, Northwest Maritime Center, Linda Rosenbury, PT Schools Superintendent, Buster Ferris, Edensaw Woods, and Chief Bret Black of East Jefferson Fire Rescue. PLEASE DONATE! Funds from the Pi Day 1-day flash fundraiser will be used for station operations, in order to keep KPTZ on the air during the upcoming weeks, while we move to the new Fort Worden station.
