We will be hosting two workshops geared towards families in which participants will learn the importance of healthy eating, how our eating habits can benefit the environment, and simple methods for growing food at home. Families are welcome to attend either one or both of the workshops. These workshops are free! Workshop 1: Healthy Eating for the Whole Family Thursday, March 23rd 5:30pm – 7pm The HUB, 111 NE Old Belfair Hwy In this hands-on workshop, families will learn about the importance of a balanced and varied diet, and how to identify diverse sources of nutrients. Kids and their parents will work together on fun activities that put these nutrition principles in action, including a DIY pickling activity! We encourage families to please sign up in advance, however walk-ins are welcome. Working together, parents and kids will explore a worm bin composting system and plant herb seeds that they will get to continue caring for at home!
