SPECIAL MEETING
Conservation Futures Site Visits 2023
Tuesday, March 28th, 2023 9 am – 2 pm
Site visits will be videotaped.
Dress for the weather and off-pavement walking. Bring a face mask (as desired), water, hat, sunscreen,
sunglasses, umbrella etc. Snacks will be provided. Please do your best to carpool, and be very cautious
parking, entering, and leaving vehicles. There’s very limited parking at the first two project areas.
8:40 am: Form Port Townsend carpools at Haines Place Park & Ride at 440 12th St., Port Townsend.
Outside PT, let me know if I can help coordinate carpools.
9 am: ARRIVE LOWER CHIMACUM CREEK MAINSTEM (2 separate locations)
51 8th Avenue, Port Hadlock: Park at the end of 8th Ave off of Irondale Rd.
111 Price Street, Port Hadlock: From Irondale Rd, turn north on 7th Avenue and
park on E. Price Street. We will then walk west down to the end of the right of
way for W. Price St.
10:00 am: DEPART FOR CARPOOL CONSOLIDATION SITE FOR “NORTH BARRY”
10:20 am: ARRIVE AT CARPOOL CONSOLIDATION SITE FOR “NORTH BARRY”:
Park at location of the now-closed Disco Bay Bar/ Disco Bay Gear Exchange at
282332 U.S. 101, Port Townsend.
Consolidate into a minimum number of cars. Jefferson Land Trust will provide
detailed directions to access the North Barry site, which has very limited parking
at another location along Hwy 101. Travel approximately 2 miles to site.
Snacks at North Barry
12:15 pm: DEPART FOR SCHMIDT FARM:
Take Hwy 104 to Center Road Exit to avoid construction on Hwy 101 near Lord’s
Lake Road.
12:45 pm ARRIVE SCHMIDT FARM:
255 Jakeway Road, which is accessed off of E. Quilcene Rd. Travel north on
Jakeway Rd, veer left at the fork, and park at the garage.
