Urgent issue! Hi Lands Group allies and other forest friends - More soon but we are going to have to fight like crazy to keep the 80 million NCS older forest proviso. VDW will try tomorrow in W and M at 4 to eliminate the whole thing. We are going to try a few actions to defend. Stay tuned. His horrible amendments are included below. Four County Commissioners have weighed in to defend our position - I will send their letter around. We should have an action alert you can use with your networks very soon.David and I talked earlier and we think some of us should make some calls to select senators too. More soon! VdW amendment removing the $80 million. It’s as we thought – deletes the proviso and reduces Natural Climate Solutions Funding to the agency by $80 million. https://app.leg.wa.gov/committeeschedule s/Home/Document/260117#toolbar=0&navpanes=0 <https://app.leg.wa.gov/committeeschedules/Home/Document/260117#toolbar=0&navpanes=0> VdW amendment to strike $400K and carbon sequestration strategy language from DNR’s budget: https://app.leg.wa.gov/committeeschedules/Home/Document/260116#toolbar=0&navpanes=0 <https://app.leg.wa.g ov/committeeschedules/Home/Document/260116#toolbar=0&navpanes=0> VdW amendment to remove $500K upland study from DNR’s budget: https://app.leg.wa.gov/committeeschedules/Home/Document/260115#toolbar=0&navpanes=0 VdW amendment to remove $1.6 million to Ecology for developing natural and working lands carbon sequestration strategy: https://app.leg.wa.gov/committeeschedules/Home/Document/260111#toolbar=0&navpanes=0
