Dear Commissioners Brotherton, Dean, and Eisenhour:
Please find attached a letter signed by over 40 area residents imploring you to begin the process of developing a long-term management plan for the Jefferson County Fairgrounds. We hope
for a plan to bring our community together around a positive vision for ecological and economic sustainability.
We have talked to many more area residents who support our position but who hesitate to sign the letter because of the atmosphere of confusion, controversy and intimidation associated
with the Fairgrounds. That fact alone indicates the urgent need for a public, civil and orderly conversation around the future use of this gem of a property.
We applaud your first steps in overseeing the restructuring of the Fair Board. We’ve been frustrated by the lack of opportunity to participate in working toward positive change. We stand
ready to meet with you at your earliest convenience to discuss our ideas.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely yours,
Tom Buell, Fair Vision Citizens Action Committee
