Masking Requirements in Healthcare, Long-term Care, and Correctional Facilities End Today.
The Washington State Department of Health (DOH) will end the masking order that required all visitors, patients, and employees to wear masks in these settings. Similarly, the Oregon
Health Authority (OHA) announced that workers, patients, and visitors will no longer be required to wear masks in healthcare settings starting today April 3. Both agencies continue
to recommend masks for people who are sick or at high risk of contracting the virus. Additionally, employees must be able to wear a mask if they choose, and employers may not retaliate
or discriminate against them for doing so. Employers can choose to require their employees to continue wearing masks.

Only 3 days remain for businesses to apply to the Washington Hospitality Grant Program. Please encourage eligible restaurants, hotels, motels and other small hospitality industry businesses
to get their applications in for consideration! The application portal will close on Thursday, April 6th, at 5:00pm.
What’s next?
Once the portal closes on April 6th, our program administrator, FORWARD, will begin reviewing applications submitted. FORWARD notifications and requests for additional information may
begin the week of April 10th, 2023. Application review will be conducted throughout April and May.

Five new programs to be offered through the State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI)
OLYMPIA, WA – Washington state has been awarded $163.4 million from the U.S. Treasury Department to operate five capital access programs for small businesses. The new funding will be
used to launch an updated version of the state’s highly successful Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI) program, which was completed in 2016. SSBCI leveraged an original $19.7 million
investment from the 2010 Small Business Jobs Act into $150 million in new capital for Washington small businesses.
