We thought you might like to see the request for quote we sent today to a provider of outdoor acoustic curtains which claim to reduce noise by roughly 10 Db, which is about 50% reduction in sound perceived by the human ear. One side is 60’x 10’, and the other is 120’x 10’, both enclosed by galvanized fencing. A hinged door is at the vertex of the 2 sides, (area of door included in the 120’ side). The other two sides face open field and the County Court House. At this point it is hard to say who will be paying for this…the county, the players, the homeowners, or some combination. The first step is to obtain a price for the materials delivered to Port Townsend, as well as a separate estimate for installation (although I assume that could be done by the players as well).
