Congratulations are in order for Jim Golden, Dick Chambers, Will Laidlaw, Geri Eekhoff, and Margo Garton!
Collectively, these five contributed a total of 1,633.5 volunteer hours to Habitat EJC last year. That's a lot of time on their feet, so what better way to celebrate than with a pair
of awesome socks?!
We want to offer an extra special acknowledgment to Jim Golden, who supported Habitat EJC in all five volunteer categories: committee, construction, store, event, and hospitality.

It's all about the bag!
Thanks to talented volunteer Tina, other Habitat volunteers have been left hold the bag. Instead of trashing old banners (just say no to the landfill!), Tina help us up-cycled the signs
into collectible Habitat bags. We’ve started distributing them among the volunteers—a process that’s going to take us awhile. If you’d like a chance at a one-of-a-kind Habitat bag,

Pass the word along: Habitat is accepting homeownership applications through May 15 at 12:00 noon.
* How do I apply? One of the best ways to apply is take an orientation class. Orientations are offered twice a week via Zoom. You will be able to meet our Homeowner Services Manager
and ask her questions directly. And, as you learn about the whole process, you'll get a better idea if a Habitat home is right for you.
* How do I know if I qualify? Again, sign up for an orientation and talk to our Homeowner Services Manager. If you decide to apply, she will help you through the process and answer all

Everyone has heard about Habitat's plans for a future build on the old airfield in Port Hadlock. But, did you know that before we begin building homes there in three or four years, we
will be building many, many homes in the interim?
In fact, we are in the process of accepting homeownership applications for 10 new homes that we will begin building this Autumn. And, we will finish six new homes in just a couple of
months. That's a total of 16 homes in the works.

Boots, Bags and Bling

Our store team is preparing for a fun special event, and we hope you will stop by to browse the Boots, Bags and Bling sale!
Many sparkling and delectable items will be for sale, including things Habitat doesn't normally offer: shoes and apparel!
The sale runs Wednesday, April 19 to Saturday, April 22. All proceeds support affordable housing.

Habitat Open House
May 6
Ever wonder what the inside of a finished and furnished Habitat home looks like?
Join us on May 6 for an open house and learn about the excellent quality of the homes, explore the layouts, and even meet some future homeowners.
Habitat volunteers and staff will be on hand to explain how the homes come together, what the unique features are--including eco-friendly construction, and how you can be involved in
making housing affordable for all in East Jefferson County.

When: May 6, 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m.
Where: Landes Street at 18th Street
Parking: Please park at the Park-and-Ride by Safeway and walk to the open house or take the bus.
You can park at the Park-n-Ride and catch the bus to the May 6 Open House! Jefferson Transit has offered to stop at Landes & 18th to drop people off and pick them up. At 11:30 a.m.,
the #3 Castle Hill will pick up from Haines Place. When boarding, let the driver know a stop is needed at Landes & 18th. Similarly, in the afternoon, the #3 bus will go by Landes &

Promotions and New Team Members
Jerimah Salmon has been promoted to Store Manager! He has been an amazing member of our team for over two years, making such an impact to those around him. As our store manager, he
will help keep everything running smoothly, from donations to deliveries and everything in between.
Kevin O'Shea is taking on a new role as Repair Manager focusing on Habitat's Critical Home Repairs program. Kevin has been an invaluable part of the team as a Site Supervisor and will
be transitioning that role as he takes on his new responsibilities.
Welcome to two new team members! We are excited to introduce Dan Caulfield, Store Team Member and Spencer Schwatz, Construction Site Lead.
Dan will be spending a lot of time on the Habitat truck meeting and greeting community members as he picks up and delivers goods for the store. And Spencer will be leading volunteers
on builds at various Habitat sites, ensuring decent, affordable homes get built to spec and on time.
