New Project Announcement!
The Olympic Housing Trust <https://housingsolutionsnetwork.us17.list-manage.com/track/click?u=38123e1ad2608f9c4e51e6660&id=47bb3c0290&e=b56e9d81e8> has announced their flagship housing
development in Jefferson County: five permanently affordable and sustainable houses, available for home ownership to local residents who could otherwise not afford to buy. By utilizing
a community land trust model, the Olympic Housing Trust (OHT) can ensure permanent affordability and keep the house affordable upon eventual resales.
The Dundee Hill project <https://housingsolutionsnetwork.us17.list-manage.com/track/click?u=38123e1ad2608f9c4e51e6660&id=ee42c03783&e=b56e9d81e8> is situated in Port Townsend (accompanying
a longstanding community garden) and will be a statement piece for OHT’s goal to provide stable homes and habitat. If you have been wondering how to support a long term solution in
our local housing crisis, please consider a contribution towards their work. With very few funding pools to draw from, these home ownership projects rely on generous local communities.
They’ve set a target to raise $262,000 more by August 1, 2023.

Habitat for Humanity East Jefferson County is NOW accepting applications for new homeowners!

Potential Changes to USDA Rural Development
Housing Programs
Your help is needed! We have received notice that USDA is considering changes to eligible area maps for USDA Rural Development housing programs in Washington State. Port Townsend and
Port Angeles are both on the chopping block. USDA is mandated to conduct a review of areas under its jurisdiction every five years. The last review was in 2017-2018.
USDA is accepting public comments (until early June) regarding the potential loss of eligibility for Rural Development housing programs. Please email wa-sfh@usda.gov <mailto:wa-sfh@usda.gov>
to let USDA know how vital these programs are for low- and moderate-income families in Port Townsend.

Engage PT Golf Course + Mountain View Commons: April 26th
The City of Port Townsend will host Public Open House #2 for the Port Townsend Golf Course and Mountain View Commons Concept Planning Effort on Wednesday, April 26th from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
at Fort Worden Commons, 210 Battery Way, Port Townsend WA 98368. This meeting will summarize public feedback received to date and share design concepts based on community priorities.
An online version of the Open House will be held
Monday, May 1st from 4:00-5:30 p.m.
