I strongly support passing the resolution on entheogens.
Entheogens have been integral in supporting my healing from anxiety and depression and continue to contribute to my well-being by providing me with greater and deeper understandings
and experiences of healing on a multitude of levels.
Any community I have been a part of where entheogens have been used has been a community of transparency, kindness and clarity. The depth of healing has been immeasurable.
In my youth, I hid my use of entheogens, even though they had provided me with clear and direct assistance which I could then use to help myself. I hid my use of entheogens because
of their illegality and because they were looked upon as harmful and as child’s play.
As I age, I am no longer willing to hide what has been an incredible help to my healing as well as to that of many in my community.
Although it is true that they can be used in ways that aren’t respectful of their power and potential to support healing, the users I have come in contact with have used them primarily
as heart opening, soul healing, spiritual guides and supports. Perhaps with decriminalization, there can be more options for community education and support to minimize potential risks.
Decriminalizing entheogens is a step toward supporting a value system that reflects the values of many in our community and recognizes and respects their healing potential.
