I strongly support the resolution on entheogens you are considering.
Entheogens have been shown to have a healing effect for many individuals suffering from PTSD to depression, and addiction to anxiety. They are already contributing to the health of our
community and decriminalization would help ensure equitable access for all who might benefit from their use. There are many people in Jefferson County who are working to educate our
fellow citizens about safe ways to grow and use some of these natural substances, and your support would help promote this effort.
This letter is from me personally as a physician and a public health professional. I am not speaking as a Public Hospital District Commissioner or as a member of the Jefferson County
Board of Health on which I serve.
Thanks for all you do for the health of this community.
