Oi Folks,
I’m down in Brasil this spring doing some first-hand cultural research so I’m a little behind on this. Just wanted to put my probably not very meaningful support behind the PTPS resolution
you discussed earlier this week. For the last decade of the twenty plus years I’ve lived in Jefferson County my life has involved communicating with people who are sick and/or dying.
The median age in our community is nearly sixty years and a large segment of the small young adult population is rather vulnerable to crisis. We live an ephemeral existence in a materialistic
society where most individuals really don’t seriously contemplate their own mortality until advanced in age, which can tragically lead to a lot of life regret and the need for considerable
therapeutic intervention to maintain psychospiritual health. I consider my developmental exposure to the suffering and death of loved ones as a young child to be one of my greatest
life blessings. Entheogens, responsibly understood within soul-centered contexts, can be beneficial. Please support this resolution.

Exciting news! Almost four years since we first proposed a resolution on entheogens in 2019, one is finally on the official agenda for this Monday's county commissioner meeting. So,
please join us in expressing our strong support for passing this resolution!
Due to the limited power of the county commission over independently elected officials such as the sheriff and prosecuting attorney, this resolution is largely aspirational. However,
it is a powerful declaration regarding our community’s values regarding entheogens. It makes clear that we seek to move towards equitable access, policy aligned with the actions and

As representatives of our community, our commissioners need to hear from us to guide and justify their actions. Please take the time to send them a message letting them know why this
resolution matters and why you support it - it truly makes a difference! The two best ways to guarantee your support will be heard and received are:
1) Show up in person
When: This Monday, April 24th from 9am-11am (please arrive around 8:45 am to give yourself time to be seated - while we will likely be giving comments between 10am and 11am, we are expected
to show up at the start of the meeting)
Where: Commissioner Chambers in basement of County Courthouse, 1820 Jefferson St, Port Townsend, WA 98368
*Keep in mind that people are searched by law enforcement and walk through a metal detector before entering the courthouse, so please leave your entheogens at home!*
Join us in person to speak directly to the commissioner's for 1 to 3 minutes (the length depends on how many people want to share comments, so be prepared to adjust your time accordingly).
You can also email in your comment via the method below, then simply join the in person meeting as a supportive presence.
2) Send in a written comment
