Dear County Commissioners,
I am writing to express my strong support for passing the resolution on entheogens.
Entheogens are contributing in powerful ways to the healing of trauma, mood disorders, addictions, and other forms of human suffering. This is demonstrated in clinical studies repeatedly.
They are a safe, non-addictive and natural way to help individuals to connect to themselves and find the courage and inner resources to face their pain, and to heal.
Decriminalizing entheogens makes sense on a number of levels. It creates more ease and safety for access to healing opportunities. It opens the door for communication and education about
the health benefits of these natural medicines. It reduces barriers such as high costs, and it reduces the use of tax dollars for unnecessary restrictions.
I have directly witnessed the healing transformations that entheogens can offer, and have seen a significant reduction in painful mental health symptoms when these plants are safely
used.
Thank you for your time and care for our community.
Respectfully,
Christine Nock, Licensed Mental Health Counselor
