The State Board also works with neighboring states and British Columbia, and provides leadership on regional and statewide noxious weed projects. The Board maintains the state's official list of noxious weeds that landowners may be required to control. The Board also publishes educational materials about noxious weeds that are used by local weed boards and districts and distributed free to the public. The Puget Sound Salmon Recovery Council’s recommendations help set priorities for the types of recovery work to conduct, determine what issues to focus on, and provide recommendations for future projects and funding. The Puget Sound Salmon Recovery Council includes representatives from the diverse constituents working on salmon recovery throughout the Sound, including representatives from federal agencies, state agencies, local jurisdictions, all Puget Sound tribes, all Puget Sound watersheds, business and agriculture entities, and environmental entities. The Commission, in conjunction with the Governor's Office, shall also invite participation by two representatives of tribal governments.
