Dear County Commissioners,
I have been a Jefferson County resident since 1985. One of the things I love about living here is that elected officials make a real effort to listen to citizen input. I watched last
Monday’s meeting on my computer the next day. I was so very moved by the comments from citizens, the commissioners, the sheriff and the prosecuting attorney. It was so great to have
everyone in dialogue together and see people really listening to each other. Warms my heart and gives me hope for the future.
I whole heartedly support the decriminalization of entheogens and the County Resolution which is to be voted on next Monday. Responsible agency over our own bodies and what we put in
them. I have personally experienced the beneficial effects of macrodosing psilocybin mushrooms for the last year and a half. It has allowed me to get off antidepressants which have
unwanted side effects. I feel like the mushroom microcode is much more effective for dealing with the depression and anxiety which has plagued me most of my life. The antidepressants
felt like they muted life to make it more bearable. The mushrooms feel like they clarify my mind so I can face and work through the issues behind the depression and anxiety. Much
more effective!
