Chairman Daryl Gillette called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m. in the presence of Member Pete Raab. Vice-
Chairman Margaret Taylor was absent.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Chairman Gillette moved the meeting minutes of April 11, 2023 to a future meeting.
DETERMINATIONS
Per Open Public Meetings Act, as Outlined in RCW 42.30.140(2)the Board of Equalization met in
CLOSED SESSION. The Board began CLOSED SESSION deliberations at 10:03 a.m. At the conclusion
of the deliberations the Board resumed the regular meeting at 11:00 a.m. and the following actions were
taken.

The Board of Equalization held a hearing on April 11, 2023.
After reviewing all the information submitted, the Board concurred that the appellant did not present clear,
cogent, and convincing evidence necessary to overcome the presumptive correctness of the Assessor.
Chairman Gillette moved to sustain the Assessor's valuation of$67,955 ($67,955 for the land and $0 for
the improvements/buildings). Member Raab seconded the motion which carried by a unanimous vote.

The Board of Equalization held a hearing on April 11, 2023.

The Board of Equalization held a hearing on April 11, 2023.
After thoughtful consideration, the Board of Equalization decided to use a presented comparable Lot of
similar size with a trended sales price of$161,600, apply the 65% adjustment used by the Assessor to
reflect the use limitations for the Lot, with a further adjustment of$10,000 to reflect the cost of a quiet
title action.
Chairman Gillette moved to overrule the Assessor's original valuation and apply a net assessed value for
the property of$86,960 ($86,960 for the land and $0 for the improvements). Vice-Chair Taylor seconded
the motion which carried by a unanimous vote. (See also minutes of March 23, 2023)
ADJOURNMENT
Chair Gillette adjourned the meeting at 11:19 a.m. until the next regular meeting or special meeting as
properly noticed.
