MINUTES
Special Meeting — April 21, 2023 at 11:30 a.m.
County Government Coordination Meeting
Jefferson County Courthouse—Commissioners' Chambers
1820 Jefferson Street, Port Townsend, WA (Hybrid)
CALL TO ORDER: Chair Greg Brotherton, Commissioner Heidi Eisenhour and Commissioner Kate
Dean participated in the meeting. Chair Brotherton called the meeting to order at the appointed time.
The following Jefferson County Elected Officials and staff were present: County Administrator Mark
McCauley, Judge Mindy Walker, Judge Brandon Mack, Undersheriff Andy Pernsteiner, Deputy
Prosecuting Attorney Barbara Ehrlichman, WSU Extension Interim Director Bridget Gregg, Chief Civil
Deputy Jennifer Moore, Department of Community Development (DCD) Deputy Director Josh Peters,
Chief Deputy Assessor Sherrie Shold, Treasurer Stacie Prada, Facilities Maintenance/Capital Projects
Supervisor Matthew Court, Communications Specialist Wendy Davis, Assessor Jeff Chapman, DCD
Director Brent Butler, Treasurer's Office Sabrina Hathaway, Central Services Director Chris Goy, and
Clerk Amanda Hamilton.
PUBLIC COMMENTS: Chair Brotherton called for public comments, and none were received.
UPDATE re: County State of Emergency—COVID-19: Chair Greg Brotherton noted that the County
rescinded the COVID-19 emergency declaration, and all meetings are back to full capacity. The
Commissioners kept some changes to the Personnel Policy, such as masking encouraged, and to not go
to work if you are sick.
STRATEGIC PLAN UPDATE: County Administrator Mark McCauley provided an update on the
Strategic Plan process. He noted upcoming meeting dates for the Strategic Plan.
ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSION: The following departments provided updates: WSU Extension,
Treasurer's Office, Department of Community Development, Sheriff's Office, Assessor's Office,
Superior Court, District Court, Sheriff's Office, Juvenile Services, Central Services, Auditor's Office,
Commissioners' Office, and County Administrator's Office. The Coordination Committee discussed
miscellaneous topics.
NOTICE OF ADJOURNMENT: Chair Brotherton adjourned the meeting at 12:37 p.m. until the next
regular meeting or special meeting as properly noticed. Commissioner Dean continued the interactive
discussion with the students and took them for tours around the courthouse.
