Special Meeting — April 28, 2022 at 11:40 a.m.
INFORMATION SESSION ON THE ROLE OF COUNTY
GOVERNMENT WITH LOCAL ELEMENTARY STUDENTS
Jefferson County Courthouse—Commissioners' Chambers
1820 Jefferson Street, Port Townsend, WA (Hybrid)
CALL TO ORDER: Chair Greg Brotherton and Commissioner Kate Dean participated in the meeting.
Chair Eisenhour was absent. Chair Brotherton called the meeting to order at the appointed time.
PUBLIC COMMENTS: Chair Brotherton called for public comments, and two comments were
received.
INFORMATION SESSION AND INTERACTIVE DISCUSSION re: Discussion of the Legislative
Branch of Jefferson County Government,with Guests from the 4th Grade Classes of Salish Coast
Elementary: Chair Brotherton and Commissioner Dean talked to the 4th grade classes of Salish Coast
Elementary about County Government and answered questions by those in attendance. Commissioner
Dean gave a presentation and some of the topics covered were the three branches of government,
Commissioner Districts, rules and laws implemented by the Commissioners, and taxes.
NOTICE OF ADJOURNMENT: Due to a scheduling conflict, Chair Brotherton announced that he
would be leaving the meeting, and therefore adjourning the meeting as there would be no quorum. He
adjourned the meeting at 12:17 p.m. until the next regular meeting or special meeting as properly
noticed. Commissioner Dean continued the interactive discussion with the students.
