Chapters & Volunteers 30X30 VISION - Staff from the Sierra Club Our Wild America team in California, Sierra Club California, and allies attended a lobby day in Sacramento. The activists held a press conference and then lobbied against a proposed budget cut that would affect key state programs needed to save 30 percent of lands and water by 2030. DOING THE WORK IN LOUISIANA - Sierra Club activists recently worked with allies Lake Maurepas Preservation Society to hold a public educational meeting about a proposed carbon capture and sequestration plan for Lake Maurepas. Then on April 18, more than 50 activists attended a “Stop Carbon Capture & Storage Lobby Day” at the state capitol. TRUCKIN' A - High five to activists in Maryland for getting the state legislature to pass a bill requiring the state department of the environment to adopt the Advanced Clean Trucks rule by the end of 2023. More than 30 activists showed up for a hearing and press conference calling on the state public utilities commission to take action on coal plant bailout audits.
