Now—over 200 hours, 4,000 images, and 400 GB of data later—we have 500-600 unique items destined for upload to our online collection by the end of this month. For this feature, we called upon our own Director of Research and Collections Ellie DiPietro to walk us through the intricacies, benefits, and unique challenges of digitizing oversized items like maps. Check it out to learn more about this project, where you can find the newly digitized maps, and the portmanteau we coined for the work station where all the digitizing magic has been happening.
