SUBJECT: PROCLAMATION re: Proclaiming the Week of May 7-13, 2023 as National
Hospital Week
STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
During National Hospital Week and all weeks, we recognize the hospitals, health care systems, networks,
and others who provide care to their community. In particular we recognize Jefferson Healthcare for
providing comprehensive medical care to the residents of Jefferson County.
FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal impact to Jefferson County.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve Proclamation re: Proclaiming the Week of May 7-13, 2023 as National Hospital Week in Jefferson
County.

WHEREAS, the Jefferson Healthcare, a Critical Access Hospital with limited resources,
provides high quality inpatient and outpatient medical and dental care services to the
residents of East Jefferson County, Washington; and,
WHEREAS, Jefferson Healthcare delivers comprehensive emergency, primary and specialty
care for thousands of our community members every year; and,
WHEREAS, Jefferson Healthcare employees provide comprehensive medical services for
the community each and every day and provided critical care during the Covid 19 pandemic,
at considerable risk to themselves and their families; and,
WHEREAS, the Jefferson County Commissioners would like to acknowledge and thank all
the clinical and non -clinical staff, the administrators, and the medical and dental providers of
Jefferson County Public Hospital District #2, (aka Jefferson Healthcare) for their dedication
and resilience.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL VED that the Jefferson County Commissioners
express gratitude and heartfelt thanks to every member of the Jefferson Healthcare team, for
their skills, service and dedication to the health and wellbeing of our community.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Jefferson County Commissioners do hereby
proclaim May 7-13, 2023 as:
NATIONAL HOSPITAL 'EEK
in Jefferson County and ask all residents of this community join us in celebrating the
Jefferson Healthcare team.
