Share air time and encourage all members to participate DRAFT MINUTES The November 17th, 2021 meeting of the Empowered Teens Coalition was held at the Zoom meeting 3:30 – 4:30 PURPOSE OF THE MEETING: Reports: community update and news; Highlights Reel and introduction to new coalition coordinator Facilitators for this meeting: Denise Banker In attendance: Mark Gudger (Education), Lindsay Scalf (Other Substance Abuse coalition), Chris HoffmanHill (Civic), Ciela Meyer (Mental Health), Cheryl Weinstein (Dove House, Business), Samuel Swenson-Daly (SAP, ESD 114), Rhianna Sherlock (Intern, OSU), Tanya Barnett (YMCA youth/family navigator), Holly Gumm (Quilcene Coalition, Other Substance Abuse Coalition) Time/Facilitator Activity 3:30 Denise Called meeting to order. Approve Agenda: Cheryl, Samuel, all; Minutes: Cheryl, Rhianna, all. 3:35 All Check in and Update: New members introduced themselves; Update on PAX GBG policy brief; School district report: Mark reported on Character Strong and school morale; Ciela reported on progress re. OESD 114 overseeing and subcontracting with Hargrove Fund funding for MH counselors in the schools; Samuel updated on Student Assistance program activities and Teen Center groups; Lindsay reported on Guiding Good Choices; Tanya reported on navigator progress; Holly reported on Quilcene Coalition meeting; Cheryl reported on partnership with Y navigator and upcoming programs. 4:00 All ~Highlights reel to celebrate the coalition’s work 2016-2021. ~ Follow up with Samuel and Ciela re. Positive Action and reporting to HCA ~ Follow up with PAX GBG information for Samuel ~ Follow up with CAT ~ Send DBH the GGC flyer again; send out to list. ~Send e-mail to joint board re. mental health promotion suicide prevention programs. ~Our next meeting will be Wednesday, December 15th via Zoom. 4:30 Denise Meeting ended at 4:20. ALCOHOL AND OTHER DRUG PREVENTION IS GOOD WORK.
