Jefferson County Public Health http://www.jeffersoncountypublichealth.org/index.php?c-p-c Denise Banker 360-385-9438 dbanker@co.jefferson.wa.us 4:10 Denise and Andrew Lifeskills planning and scheduling for 2022 • Samuel Swenson is implementing Lifeskills in the 7th and 8th grade right now as a part of Project SUCCESS. • Mark mentioned that Benji Project Mindfulness Class is also being implemented in the science class, so the demand for that class is heightened. • Ciela proposed that the Coalition can count the 8th grade implementation that Samuel is doing as a Coalition funded Lifeskills, and the 7th grade implementation can be counted as a Project SUCCESS implementation. • Decided that Samuel’s current implementation of Lifeskills in the 8th grade will count as a Coalition implementation and count towards the Lifeskills category on the Action Plan. And then we will pay to train Andrew in Lifeskills which will also count as fulfilling the Action Plan Lifeskills category. That way in the next funding cycle if we decide to continue Lifeskills, Andrew is prepared to implement. • Discussed doing a Lifeskills implementation among the older adult population, between the ages of 18-24, will continue exploring this possibility at next month’s meeting. 4:20 Denise, Andrew and Members Other Community Updates Social/Emotional Health curriculum for all school districts • January joint school board meeting was focused on transportation for students, and syncing the academic calendar. • Denise will connect with Superintendent Mauk to follow up on Social/Emotional Health curriculum. Dove House update • Healthy Relationships class is in progress, sexual violence prevention education curriculum in schools isn’t scheduled yet due to COVID restrictions. Navigator position with JC Sheriff • Discussed how to contact the Navigator. Currently people need to call dispatch (911) to get the Navigator dispatched. Sheriff’s office is working on getting a more direct line to the Navigator. Teen Center • Discussed Positive Action trainings for Teen Center staff, likely September 2022. This will be defined more after planning period for 2022-2023 funding cycle. 4:30 Denise and Andrew Close Meeting. The January 19th meeting of the Empowered Teens Coalition, Chimacum will be held Via Zoom Meeting 3:30-4:30. Our next meeting is February 16th. Happy New Year!
