Community Updates:
Drug Take Back date- April 30, 2022 10am-2pm, thanks to Sheriff Nole for
collaborating
Implementing Lifeskills- Samuel’s 8th grade implementation will count to
Chimacum’s action plan item for Lifeskills
Discussed Lifeskills Training at OlyCAP ages 18-24
Emily summarized the Youth Solutions program demographics and 11 clients in
18-24 age group who could benefit from a Lifeskills implementation. Andrew
mentioned the ‘Transitions program’ which could be suitable for this population.
Described the Youth Advisory Committee that is being developed, and could be
another venue for hosting life skills type education. Emily described the new
housing opportunities coming up and connections- in Chimacum and in Port
Townsend.
Discussed collaborating on programs to offer a community outreach element
similar to DARE which would be a good way for law enforcement to build trust in
the community. Will explore in the future if it would be possible to get a
representative from the Sheriff’s office to become trained in Lifeskills.

Discussed teaching SPORT training at middle and high school.
SPORT is an intervention for middle/high school students, based on the Behavior-
Image Model. It is a single-session course that takes 45 minutes, focuses on body

follows up with the youth a month later.
Discussed hosting SPORT at the teen center.
Discussed upcoming changes around COVID mandates, masking changes, public
tension around COVID policies, supporting youth,

Monday April 4th,11th, 18th,25th and Wednesday the 27th
