Share air time and encourage all members to participate May 18th, 2022 3:30 to 4:30 pm Zoom Meeting THE EMPOWERED TEENS COALITION, CHIMACUM Wednesday, May 18th, 2022 MEETING WILL BE FROM 3:30 – 4:30 Zoom Meeting PURPOSE OF THE MEETING: Community updates and news In attendance: Andrew Fechenbach, Lindsay Scalf, Shayann Hoffer, Cheryl Weinstein, Mark Gudger, Joe Nole, Lyberty Forville, Pam Garlock, Heidi Eisenhour, Holly Gumm, Emily Abell, Chris Hoffman-Hill, Katie-Rose Fischer-Price, Tanya Barnett, Autumn Nolan Time/Facilitator Activity 3:30 Andrew Check in/ Introductions Community updates. • Cheryl updated us on Empowering Women’s Yoga, a trauma informed yoga class hosted at Recovery Café- Tuesdays from 4-6pm til August • Tanya updated us on the summer activity list • Pam updated us on the PTA summer event • Mark Gudger is transitioning into a new role in Pioneer School District so this will be his last Chimacum Empowered Teens Coalition meeting. • Lyberty Forville from Discovery Behavioral Health is the new representation from DBH for the Empowered Teens Coalitions • Emily Abell updated us on two youth services job opening, in Jefferson and Clallam county. Email Emily to learn more: eabell@olycap.org • Quilcene Resource Fair- ‘Show us your community’ Friday May 20th at Quilcene High School. Jefferson County Public Health http://www.jeffersoncountypublichealth.org/index.php?c-p-c Andrew Fechenbach 360-385-9408 afechenbach@co.jefferson.wa.us • Liz from the Dove House will be hosting prevention education (healthy relationships, consent) at the local schools, and will be taking over Cheryl’s role here representing the Dove House on the Empowered Teens Coalition • Shayann updated us that the Teen Center will be open two weeks during the summer, first time ever that the teen center will be open during the summer! 3:40 Andrew Guiding Good Choices, good turnout for the virtual series ASB Auction- over $18,000 raised for Chimacum school ASBs! Safe Sober Graduation on June 11th 3:45 Andrew Start meeting in person again? Folks expressed that there are some perks to meeting in person, but sometimes it is more accessible to meet virtually. Many want to meet in person. Discussed the hybrid model. 3:50 Andrew Review Action Plan for 2022 – 2023 School Year • Discussed Guiding Good Choices- we will follow up with Chimacum PTA to establish a good day to host it in the Fall (October or November) • Discussed Drug Take Back event- option of changing scope of event to be more health fair style, with option to expand beyond just medication disposal (Naloxone, Medication lock boxes, Car-seat checks, etc…) • Discussed Nurse Family Partnership • Discussed LifeSkills • Discussed Positive Action and MCS counseling
