Action Plan Updates: CONNECT Program: Holly G, Alicia, and Lindsay presented a family connection program to 6 youth and their parent/connected adult Positive Social Norms/Public Awareness campaign: due to lack of candidates interested in the Prevention Peer clerk-hire position, the workgroup met and decided to suspend this strategy for now to avoid leaving funds on the table at the end of the grant cycle, and re-allocate the funds toward medication lock boxes. We will continue the Positive Social Norms campaign and Teen Mental Health promotion among parents, and revisit the Prevention Peer strategy to develop youth messaging when we have an SAP at PTHS Minerva 2.0: launch is in progress, new database for all CPWI program data entry 2. Community Updates Prevention Voices: Holly G updated the group on a few of the bills we’ve been monitoring, we will send out an update at the end of the legislative session A Way Home program: Emily updated the group on this program that is coming to the peninsula, they are recruiting for youth with lived experience of housing insecurity to become members of a youth advisory board. Members will be compensated for their time. Lindsay will send out the flyers about this program. Student Assistance Professional activities: Holly M updated the group about the Coalition Club programs at Blue Heron. Affected Others group and other support groups are in progress. Wednesdays at Blue Heron are now oriented towards pro- social activities, with learning labs and student support throughout! 4:00 Planning for upcoming Drug Take Back April 30 10am-2pm • Events will be hosted at QFC in PT, QFC in Port Hadlock, and Fire Station in Quilcene • Discussed medication lock boxes/bags, Josh shared the process for distributing them at the Port Angeles event last year • Discussed distributing more lock boxes/bags with YMPEP funds, parent groups discussed included: Nurse Family Partnership, Parent Teacher conferences, WIC participants, Parents as Teachers participants 4:15 Planning for Spring Guiding Good Choices Discussed hosting virtually or in-person, and locations for different sites: Recovery Café, Blue Heron Commons.
