Teens aren’t spending as much in-person time with peers, this results in lower substance use rates, but unfortunately results in mental health issue (though prevalence of mental health rates are similar to pre-pandemic, rates of emergency room visits for mental health issues are higher). Youth report that they are very bonded with parents/community. Discussed next steps: • Access and compare PTSD level data • Research racial disparities and gender/sexuality minority disparities • Access/review data from Jefferson Healthcare: Emergency room visits by children and adolescents for anxiety, mood disorders, and self-harm • Review survey of adult perceptions of adolescent substance use • Lindsay will follow up with workgroup to schedule a time to do the PT HYS review, before May meeting.
