KEY POINTS
*Increase in Heat Risk since last briefing.
*Rapid warming Friday through Monday. Temperatures are expected to reach their hottest levels of 2023 thus far and will rival mid-summer levels.
*Widespread Moderate/Orange HeatRisk is expected with areas of Major/Red HeatRisk in the lowlands and foothill valleys Sunday & Monday.
*High concerns for cold water related incidents this weekend into early next week.
Rapid warm-up will increase risk of brush fires across western Washington.
*We are monitoring the potential for thunderstorm activity across western Washington (including the lowlands) Monday - Wednesday next week.

Hey everyone,
Two items in this email.
1. The overnight Hood Canal bridge closures are scheduled for this weekend. See that attached press release for information and timings. We have been working with the State Emergency
Management Division, Clallam County DEM, and WSDOT to put together an IAP for the event that will have contact and other important information, once I get my hands on a final copy,
I will share it with you all.
2. We are expecting a warming pattern this weekend that looks to place large parts of easy county into the Level 2 – Moderate risk under NWS’s HeatRisk metrics. See attached for the
briefings and graphics, and see the bottom of this email for a link to the NWS briefing set to occur tomorrow morning. Right now, we aren’t looking to partners to ramp up cooling centers,
but our partners in Environmental Public Health or in healthcare, please do chime in.
