President Biden Travelt to Japan for G7 Visit

This week, President Biden traveled to Hiroshima, Japan for the G7 Summit. The Summit will give the President Biden to meet with members of the world's leading economies on a range of
issues including nuclear disarmament, the War in Ukraine, and Ukrainian reconstruction.

President and Vice President's Meeting with Congressional Leadership on Preventing Default

Tuesday afternoon, President Biden hosted the Vice President Harris, Leader Schumer, Leader McConnell, Speaker McCarthy, and Leader Jeffries in the Oval Office for a productive and direct
meeting about the need to ensure America does not default on its debt for the first time in our history, and on a budget agreement that can reach his desk.
The President emphasized that while more work remains on a range of difficult issues, he’s optimistic that there is a path to a responsible, bipartisan budget agreement if both sides
negotiate in good faith and recognize that neither side will get everything it wants.

Since President Biden signed the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law 18 months ago, the Biden-Harris Administration has hit the ground running to take advantage of this once-in-a-generation
opportunity to rebuild our nation’s infrastructure. While “Infrastructure Week” was a punchline under his predecessor, President Biden is delivering an “infrastructure decade” that
is producing real results to connect communities, create good-paying jobs, and boost American manufacturing.
As part of the President’s Investing in America agenda, the Administration has already announced over $220 billion in Bipartisan Infrastructure Law funding, including over 32,000 specific
projects and awards, across over 4,500 communities in all 50 states, D.C., and territories.
On Monday, the White House released updated state by state fact sheets that highlight how across the country, the Biden-Harris Administration is rebuilding our roads and bridges, replacing
lead pipes to provide clean water, cleaning up legacy pollution, expanding access to affordable, high-speed internet, and ushering in a new era of clean energy.

Biden-Harris Administration Announces Strategies to Train and Connect American Workers to Jobs Created by the President’s Investing in America Agenda

This week, the Biden-Harris Administration announced new efforts to ensure all Americans can access the good jobs created by the President’s Investing in America agenda, including the
American Rescue Plan, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the CHIPS and Science Act, and the Inflation Reduction Act. These strategies build off the Administration’s new Roadmap to Support
Good Jobs <https://whitehouse.us10.list-manage.com/track/click?u=f620288bb41dd81f9c715ef4d&id=c8baf26b34&e=1b00b68fe6> announced this week, a collaborative agency effort to align on
guideposts to build our workforce by ensuring every American—whether they go to college or not—will have equitable access to high-quality training, education, and services that provide
a path to a good career without leaving their community.
Since the beginning of the Biden-Harris Administration, private companies have announced $470 billion in manufacturing and clean energy investments, which is in addition to the $220
billion already announced by the Administration for infrastructure projects funded by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. These projects and investments are creating good job opportunities
for hardworking Americans, many of which don’t require a four-year degree. These announcements highlight how the Administration will ensure American workers and families have access
to those job opportunities and the training and skills needed to fill those jobs. First Lady Jill Biden highlighted the announcements this week during her remarks at the Department
of Labor’s Vision 2030 National Workforce Convening.

White House Meeting with Civil Rights Leaders and Health Insurance Providers on Medicaid and CHIP
Last week, White House Director of the Office of Public Engagement and Senior Advisor to the President Steve Benjamin, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Administrator
Chiquita Brooks-LaSure, and Deputy Assistant to the President for Health and Veterans Affairs Christen Linke Young convened a meeting with civil rights leaders and health insurance
providers to discuss the Biden-Harris administration’s ongoing efforts to lower health care costs and protect access to affordable health care for all Americans.
During the meeting, Biden-Harris administration officials and key stakeholders discussed how CMS, states, insurers, and community stakeholders are working together to ensure people remain
connected to coverage as Medicaid redeterminations resume. They also discussed the catastrophic impact to Medicaid of adding additional bureaucratic red tape by imposing work reporting
requirements, noting that states that have tried similar policies have seen nearly 1 in 4 people lose coverage.

This week, the Biden-Harris administration will announce the launch of ALL INside, a first-of-its-kind initiative to address unsheltered homelessness across the country. ALL INside is

, which set a bold goal to reduce homelessness 25 percent by 2025 and ultimately build a country where every person has a safe and affordable home.
Through the ALL INside initiative, the U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness (USICH) and its 19 federal member agencies will partner with state and local governments to strengthen
and accelerate local efforts to get unsheltered people into homes in six places: Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, Phoenix Metro, Seattle, and the State of California

Biden-Harris Administration Announces New Actions to Tackle the Nation’s Mental Health Crisis

This Mental Health Awareness Month, we honor all those experiencing mental health challenges and celebrate the mental health professionals, families, and caregivers who support them.
It is clear that our country is facing an unprecedented mental health crisis impacting people of all ages. In 2021, two in five American adults reported experiencing symptoms of anxiety
and depression and forty-four percent of high school students reported struggling with persistent feelings of sadness or hopelessness, exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, social media,
and gun violence. The Biden-Harris Administration is firmly committed to addressing this crisis.
To ensure those in crisis have access to services, SAMHSA announced the availability of more than $200 million for states, territories, call centers, and Tribal organizations to continue
strengthening 988 operations. Through the SAMHSA supported 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, the network receives approximately 100,000 calls, chats, and texts each week. Later this
month, SAMHSA will also announce more than $9 million in awards in cooperative agreements for community crisis response partnerships. This funding will support mobile crisis response
teams to ensure adults and youth experiencing mental health crises in high-need communities receive faster access to trained mental health professionals.
