This plan provides a common vision for public funding of outdoor recreation and conservation priorities. It also includes a roadmap to implement that vision. The Recreation and Conservation Office (RCO) developed this plan over 18 months with significant public input as a comprehensive approach to fulfilling planning obligations required by state and federal laws. The plan was developed with the assistance of two planning advisory committees represented by state, local, and federal land managers, and members of the public. RCO also conducted five public surveys and direct outreach to gain input from the public and land managers on the plan's focus areas and priorities. The plan includes: * a discussion of the challenges and benefits of outdoor recreation in Washington State * an assessment of outdoor recreation demand * a summary of public engagement and surveys informing the plan * an inventory of outdoor recreation opportunities * statewide priorities and goals to address outdoor recreation and public lands conservation challenges The plan also includes a Unified Strategy, or implementation plan, for how RCO and the Recreation and Conservation Funding Board will advance the statewide priorities over the next 5-10 years. This plan was developed with the generous grant support of the National Park Service's Land and Water Conservation Fund. To hear more about the key highlights and what’s different in this iteration of SCORP tune in and register for this webinar! The event will take place on June 1st at 1pm!
