County leaders and partners to examine best practices and considerations for deployment of AI
The National Association of Counties (NACo) is pleased to announce the formation of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Exploratory Committee <https://www.mmsend50.com/link.cfm?r=dK5itgU3QMX7KWwJXovkzw~~
&pe=yr5MGHE-_pPn7MSUfIQQ7xlwQ44quUhceI0wwzBv2XH9dNrmYtLE1qT1yqR_1u4FiLrFBRo0Qp-CepUTL36d3Q~~&t=2BVhbkejdZODxwbKB_yRgg~~> , which will examine emerging policies, practices, and potential
applications and consequences of AI.
The committee is comprised of 15 county elected and appointed officials from across America, and will focus on the lens of county governance, operations and constituent services, public
trust, privacy and security, and workforce productivity and skills development.
As with any emerging technology, there will be a spectrum of impacts, from the known to the unknown, and county leaders stand ready to engage in upcoming national, statewide and local
discussions on how to balance the promise of AI with the inherent risks.
