Hello all, We are canceling the Employer Appreciation Event scheduled for Friday, March 20th 2020 at 4pm here at Public Health. We hope to reschedule this event in October during National Disability Employment Month. I have enclosed some links about COVID-19 below. Public Health continues to ask community members to stay calm, stay informed and take steps to protect their health and the health of those around them. March is National Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month In 1987, President Ronald Reagan declared a public proclamation – dedicating the month of March to increasing public awareness of the needs and potential of Americans with developmental disabilities. The goal is for more people to be aware of the need to include persons with developmental disabilities in all areas of community life. The goal is also to draw attention to barriers people with disabilities sometimes face when connecting to their communities. Our focus is on housing, employment, and community living. Please see the press release “COVID-19 Update for Jefferson County” at the following link: https://jeffersoncountypublichealth.org/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=441 The Jefferson County Public Health website has been updated with COVID-19 information.
