The below listed items are required by the Canvassing Board and are being submitted
to you for your signature and, if applicable, an alternate's signature.
Please return the signed copies at your earliest convenience.
1. Delegation of Canvassing Board Authority: Designating you, or an alternate, for
the scheduled upcoming election.
2. Oath (for Appointed Canvassing Board Member): Sign if applicable.
Only needed if you appoint someone other than yourself.
3. Jefferson County Canvassing Board Designation: Designating staff (to include
clerk hire) for the scheduled upcoming election.
Note the following two dates to determine if you need to designate an alternate and add
them to your, or the alternates, calendar.
Monday, August 14, 2023 at 12:30 p.m. in the Auditor's Office
Pre-Certification meeting. The meeting will last approximately 1 hour, depending on the
number of ballots needing resolution.
Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. in the Auditor's Office
Certification meeting. The meeting will last approximately 30 minutes.

JEFFERSON COUNTY CANVASSING BOARD DESIGNATION
As a member of the Jefferson County Canvassing Board, acting under authority given in RCW
29A.40.110, 29A.60.140 and as authorized by WAC 434-262-015 and WAC 434-262-025, I
hereby designate the below listed persons to act as my representatives. Their duties shall
include, but are not limited to: issuing ballots; securing ballots to be issued, ballots returned
and voted; examining the postmark, date of declaration, and to verify that the voter's signature
thereon is the same as that on the registration form on file. This may be done prior to Election
Day. The same representatives will also duplicate ballots when necessary, prepare and process
ballots for tabulation and make determinations on eligibility/ resolution of Provisional ballots
(i.e. proper voter registration, proper address and proper precinct).
Signature verification will only be done by persons who have received signature verification
training.
Further, the same representatives will conduct the auditing functions of the election records
(ballot audit trail, audit report, etc. and reconciliation of the total votes cast) after the election.
Such auditing functions will contribute to the final certification of the election.
