of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) to support the North Pacific Coast Marine

STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
Jefferson County Public Health requests approval of Amendment #2 to the Interagency Agreement with WDFW
to support the NPC MRC and its projects; July 1, 2021 — June 30, 2023; additional $14,076
ANALYSIS/STRATEGIC GOALS/PRO'S and CON'S:
This Amendment provides an additional $14,076 in funding to provide for lodging, meals, equipment, teacher
stipends and other costs in connection with a student and teacher training program to be provided to North
Pacific coastal school districts by current project sponsor Twin Harbors Waterkeeper of Grays Harbor County.
All other terms and conditions of the contract remain unchanged.
FISCAL IMPACT/COST BENEFIT ANALYSIS:
Funding for this amendment is provided by the State General Fund and administered through the WDFW
Coastal MRC Program. There is no impact to the Jefferson County General Fund for this agreement and there
are no match requirements.
RECOMMENDATION:
JCPH Management recommends BOCC signature for Amendment #2 to the Interagency Agreement with WA
Dept. of Fish and Wildlife to support the North Pacific Coast Marine Resources Committee and its projects; July
1, 2021 — June 30, 2023; additional $14,076 in funding, for a total of $168,076

The Agreement value is increased by$14,076 for work authorized under this Amendment.
This Amendment brings the AWARD allowed under this Agreement to$168,076.
AMEND Attachment C I Statement of Work
Adds funds for a new Task 9.
Incorporates the attached statement of work for Task 9 as authorized under this Amendment.
No other changes authorized under this Amendment.
All other terms and conditions of this Contract remain in full force and effect,

In coordination with the WDFW MRC Coordinator, Chris Waldbillig, North Pacific MRC would like to make the
following addition to the existing contract.
Task 9: Twin Harbors Waterkeeper- Muddy Boots in Your Watershed: Support for Teachers and Classrooms
on the North Pacific Coast
This project will provide a matching contribution to a NOAA B-WET grant for lodging, meals, clock hours, registration
fees, teacher stipends, bus rental, and speaker honorariums for a teacher training and classroom science equipment
for Twin Harbor's Pacific Northwest Bay Watershed Education and Training program entitled "From Headwaters to
the Ocean—Muddy Boots in Your Watershed for Coastal High School Students"to provide experiential learning for
30 teachers and 300 high school students in the Lake Quinault, Quileute Tribal School, Taholah, Rochester, Ocosta,
Oakville and Aberdeen school districts. It will include topics of local interest, including sea level rise, ocean
acidification, wildfires, water pollution and salmon habitat restoration. The teacher training workshop will be held in
Ocean Shores at the Quinault Beach Resort and Casino on June 26,27, and 28, 2023.
Cost: $14,076($4,785 for equipment and $9,291 for workshop)
