Volunteer Opportunities: Garden Work Parties At the Salmon Center: 600 NE Roessel Rd. Belfair WA. 98528 June 8th: 1-3pm June 15th: 1-3pm Help us maintain our U-Pick Gardens at the Salmon Center! These gardens provide fresh, organic produce to our community by donation only. Volunteers can expect to help us weed, harvest, turn compost, and/or plant in the garden. We encourage you to sign-up using the button below, however drop-ins are always welcome! Questions? Belfair WA. 98528 Dates: June 7th, June 16th, June 21st, July 1st Time: 10am-1pm (all dates) Come join us for some work parties to help maintain the Bark Park at the Salmon Center! Volunteers can expect to help with improvement and upkeep of the Bark Park trail. Please come prepared for the weather! We recommend bringing close-toed shoes, a water bottle, sun protection, and work gloves if you have them. Belfair WA. 98528 Date: June 23rd Time: 9am - 2pm Join us for the Annual Day of Caring at the Salmon Center! We will be hosting two, family-friendly stewardship activities for volunteers to choose from: Union River Estuary Preserve Stewardship: Volunteers will assist in activities to enhance and maintain native plantings on the estuary, supporting the local ecosystem! We will be mulching, removing invasive plants like blackberry, and more. Belfair WA. 98528 June 30th 9am-1pm Ages 5-8 A fun day of outdoor learning! We'll meet the farm animals, explore the garden, and adventure through the Union River Estuary Preserve. 4-H teaches life skills that lead young people to become self-directing, positive, contributing members of our society. Snacks provided. Please bring a lunch, water, and dress for the weather. Ages 7-11 Farm Stewards is an outdoor camp full of fun experiences on the Farm at Water’s Edge and Union River Estuary Preserve. Camp includes garden explorations, close up encounters with pollinators, visits to our farm animals, games, crafts, and activities with guest experts! Campers will learn about gardening, water systems, environmental science and restoration, salmon, and so much more!
