This includes careful handling of fire, making sure to extinguish campfires thoroughly (when campfires are allowed) and not dragging chains while driving. It’s important to also stay up-to-date on the latest Burn Ban information. This time of year, fire-safety burn bans can be called by local, state, and federal fire protection agencies. For more on local fire safety bans, contact your county fire officials. The DNR may also issue burn bans on state-protected lands.
