"This week's report is good news for hard working families. It shows continued progress tackling inflation at the same time that unemployment remains at historic lows. Annual inflation
is now at the lowest level since March 2021, and less than half of what it was last June. After gas and grocery prices increased rapidly last year due to the war in Ukraine, inflation
has fallen for 11 months in a row.
While there is more work to do, the plan that I laid out a year ago to bring down the cost of living and sustain stable and steady growth is working. We have taken action to bring down
the cost of gas at the pump, prescription drugs, and health insurance premiums. At the same time, the unemployment rate has remained below 4 percent for the longest stretch in more
than 50 years, helping to support wage gains over the last year, even after accounting for inflation. More Americans are in the workforce than in decades. And, earlier this month, I
brought Democrats and Republicans together around a bipartisan agreement that protects our historic economic progress and reduces the deficits by nearly $1 trillion over the next decade.
We are just getting started. My Investing in America agenda is rebuilding our infrastructure, manufacturing, and supply chains here at home, and creating good-paying jobs. Under my administration,
private sector companies have invested over $470 billion in manufacturing, and America is seizing leadership in the industries that will be critical to our economic security for decades,
like semiconductors and clean energy. I’ve never been more optimistic that our best days are ahead of us."

"In my State of the Union Address, I outlined our fight against junk fees — to end junk fees: these hidden charges that companies sneak into your bill to make you pay more and without
you really knowing it initially.
I’m pleased to announce there is even more progress. One of the major categories of junk fees are ones that companies charge right at the end of the purchasing process, after you’ve
already spent the time comparing your options. The solution is — the — the solution is what is called “all-in pricing.” And that’s where companies fully disclose their fees upfront
when you start shopping so you’re not surprised at the end when you check out.
The companies represented here today are voluntarily committing to all-in, upfront pricing. Some of them have used this process for years to sell tickets — events — like TickPick, DICE,
and Newport Festival Foundation. Tens of millions of fans have already benefitted from their decision.
Others, like Airbnb, have started giving customers the option of seeing all-in prices since we called for action last year, and other businesses are committing today.
Starting in September, Live Nation will automatically list all the prices upfront for all tickets to events at more than 200 venues of its own, benefitting over 30 million customers.
And it will give customers the option of an all-in price for all other tickets sold on its platform."

After receiving a tour of the Interstate 95 highway collapse, the President provided an update on his Administration’s work to aid I-95 reconstruction efforts. He was joined by Pennsylvania
Democratic officials Governor Josh Shapiro, Senator Bob Casey, Senator John Fetterman, Representative Brendan Boyle, and Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney. The collapse occurred when a
tanker truck, on June 11, that was carrying gasoline crashed and caught fire under an I-95 bridge.

The proposed rules for elective pay and transferability will each be open for public comment for 60 days, (until August 14), and the IRS plans to hold public hearings later this summer
to provide further opportunity for stakeholders to comment.

"I stand alongside Tribal Nations as they celebrate this Supreme Court decision. This lawsuit sought to undermine the Indian Child Welfare Act – a vital law I was proud to support. The
Indian Child Welfare Act was passed to protect the future of Tribal Nations and promote the best interests of Native children, and it does just that. The touchstone law respects tribal
sovereignty and protects Native children by helping Native families stay together and, whenever possible, keeping children with their extended families or community who already know
them, love them, and can help them understand who they are as Native people and citizens of their Tribal Nations. The Indian Child Welfare Act safeguards that which is most precious
to us all—our children. The decision from the Supreme Court keeps in place a vital protection for tribal sovereignty and Native children."

On June 14 and 15, 2023, the White House convened more than 80 state legislators from 41 states who are on the frontlines of the fight for reproductive rights. Vice President Harris
joined the convening to address the legislators, building off of her meetings with more than 250 state legislators from 28 states over the past year to discuss their efforts to protect
access to abortion.

Affordable Connectivity Program Week of Action

This week, the Administration announced that Civic Nation and the U.S. Department of Education are launching Online For All <https://whitehouse.us10.list-manage.com/track/click?u=f620288bb41dd81f9c71
5ef4d&id=a63d98c52f&e=1b00b68fe6> , a digital equity campaign working to close the digital divide by focusing on internet access, affordability, and equity for students, families, and
all Americans.
The partnership is kicking off with a Week of Action to drive enrollment in the Affordable Connectivity Program. Over 18.5 million households are now enrolled, saving a total of over
$500 million per month on their high-speed internet bills. This is incredible progress for a program that is just 18 months old, but there’s more work to do. Research indicates that
approximately half of the remaining qualified Americans are not aware of the program. The Online for All Week of Action will bring together the federal government and over 300 organizations
to raise awareness and help eligible families sign-up.

"Vice President Harris and I are committed to building on the legacy of the Equal Pay Act and ensuring every worker is paid fairly and has the opportunity to participate in our economy
to their fullest potential. To strengthen equal pay protections, I have issued Executive Orders to advance pay equity for the Federal workforce, including the elimination of discriminatory
pay practices, and to promote efforts to achieve pay equity for job applicants and employees of Federal contractors. To address caregiving challenges that force families, and women
in particular, to cut back on work and lower their earnings, I recently announced a sweeping set of executive actions to make child care and long-term care more accessible and affordable
for families, and to boost pay and job quality for care workers, who are disproportionately women of color. This builds on the $39 billion in significant funding under my American Rescue
Plan that helped 220,000 child care providers keep their doors open during the pandemic.
Sixty years after the signing of the Equal Pay Act, the fight for equal pay continues, which is why this Congress must pass the Paycheck Fairness Act to increase pay transparency for
workers, strengthen protections to fight discrimination, and help level the playing field for women and people of color. I will never stop working towards the promise of equal protection
under the law and for an economy that works for everyone."

"Eleven years ago, President Obama and I announced the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program to allow young people to live and work in the only country they’ve called
home. Since then, DACA has provided more than 800,000 Dreamers the ability to work lawfully, pursue an education, and contribute their immense skills and talents to better our communities.
Dreamers are Americans. Many have spent the majority of their lives in the United States. They are our doctors, our teachers, and our small business owners. Dreamers strengthen our economy,
enrich our workplaces, and during the COVID-19 pandemic, many served their communities on the frontlines.
The first version of the Dream Act was introduced to Congress by Senator Dick Durbin and former Republican Senator Orrin Hatch more than twenty years ago. Since then, the bill has been
championed by bipartisan coalitions of lawmakers, business and educational leaders and organizations, and the overwhelming majority of the American public. But at each opportunity,
Congress has failed to act.
My Administration is committed to providing Dreamers the opportunities and support they need to succeed. That’s why in April I announced a plan to expand health coverage for DACA recipients,
and directed the Department of Homeland Security to “preserve and fortify” DACA.
While Vice President Harris and I will continue fighting to pass legislation to protect Dreamers and create a path to citizenship, only Congress can provide permanent and lasting stability
for these young people and their families. Congress must act to protect our Dreamers."
