The shelter costs about$30,000 a month to operate. OlyCAP doesn't have the funds to keep the shelter open the entire summer and needs $60,000 in order to do so. OlyCAP is asking for$40,000 to help it keep the shelter open. OlyCAP believes they may be able to raise/find an additional $20,000 to fully fund the shelter during the summer. Having the shelter open and available will be especially important during the upcoming heat and wildfire/smoke season. ANALYSIS: Should the Board approve this recommendation staff will bring forward a contract amendment for Board approval. The HFB met on Tuesday, June 14, 2023 and recommended providing $40,000 from Fund 149 to OlyCAP to keep the American Legion open throughout the summer. FISCAL IMPACT: This request will cost $40,000 from the Affordable Housing Fund, Fund 149. RECOMMENDATION: Consider and approve the HFB recommendation for$40,000 to OlyCAP for the American Legion shelter. REVIE BY: Mark McCaule6fCounty Administrator Date
