My colleague, Eliot Littlefield participated in this afternoon's White House Office of Intergovernmental Affairs weekly briefing. Here is the read out from today’s weekly briefing. Let us know if you have any questions! Second leg of the POTUS Investing in America Tour: On Monday June 26 the Biden/Harris admin will kickoff the second leg of the tour with a major infrastructure announcement at the WH. There will then be three weeks of touring (through July 15) to areas that have benefited from administration priorities (IIJA, IRA, and more). A fact sheet will be made available at WH.gov. Invest.gov was launched recently, a website where citizens can see how their tax dollars are being put to work investing in America. The climate crisis: President Biden was in CA on Monday and announced significant investments in America including ($575 million through NOAA for coastal and great lakes communities to spend on extreme weather resilience and 2.3 billion dollars to bolster grid resilience [including 67.4 million for CA]). On Monday the President also announced a new WH summit on building climate resilient communities. The first ever national climate resilience framework will be a part of that summit. Look for announcements in the coming weeks. Abortion rights: This Saturday will make the one-year anniversary of the Dobbs decision. The WH will be underscoring the devastating impacts that statewide abortion bans have had across the US. The Biden administration will continue to call on Congress to pass a law codifying Roe V Wade into law. Prime Minister Modi of India was welcomed to the WH today and speaks to a joint session of Congress this afternoon. This was the culmination of several weeks of effort, and they will be announcing close to 60 different measures together (space, technology, climate). <http://www.strategies360.com/> CRYSTAL ELLERBE Senior Vice President, Federal Relations C 202.367.6012 O 202.333.2234 601 NEW JERSEY AVE.
