* WIN AGAINST MOUNTAIN VALLEY PIPELINE - Thanks to a suit brought by Appalachian Mountain Advocates on behalf of the Sierra Club and other conservation groups, a court has tossed a key
water permit that is needed by the Mountain Valley Pipeline <http://click.emails.sierraclub.org/?qs=a3af2dc3590d628bcc203360fcf5dc8d9f185d25a2dd01d2b12078aaa64ada73151a4939227f2d19339392ed9531c7c719

* GREATER CHACO STAYS GREAT - Following a lawsuit brought by the Sierra Club and allied groups, a federal judge barred the Bureau of Land Management from issuing more oil and gas permits
near Chaco Culture National Historical Park <http://click.emails.sierraclub.org/?qs=a3af2dc3590d628b973920f9b63193ea6541f0c1cad10a85fab9ac806a060975cdfd5a213ecd03cfd4e47a68636eb0501c627d4cc01ee8fe>
until the rule that allowed them is reconsidered.
* WILDLIFE CONSERVATION WITHOUT RIFLES - In many states, conservation funding for wildlife comes mostly from hunting revenue, giving hunters a disproportionate say in wildlife management.
Take action! <http://click.emails.sierraclub.org/?qs=a3af2dc3590d628ba249b6761ae3983031a108b9bd2c6c33a1b73dbc7e293d81a1b1b1f5cc579bb9c19d9db67d404e4050df63234c6e124d>
* CLEAN UP YOUR ACT, FEDS - In 2007, Congress passed a law mandating that the Department of Energy come up with a plan to reduce the use of fossil-fuel-generated energy in federal buildings.
The agency just proposed a rule, but it could still stall in finalizing it. Take action! <http://click.emails.sierraclub.org/?qs=a3af2dc3590d628bc06bda483a70d8dfc8e3989263cb8b3363ea3e31e2f54f4c9d058

Chapters & Volunteers
* NO DIRTY TAILPIPES IN MARYLAND - The Maryland Chapter celebrated two campaign victories <http://click.emails.sierraclub.org/?qs=a3af2dc3590d628b93f371c4e8a8c3d60548afb3552c92fada087b13aeb24d2927a8b
e8bbe36a95462b6b1114f983273135f8f075b2e9da5> it had been working toward for years. First, the operators of a proposed toll-lane expansion project scuttled their plans after facing significant
delays and renewed opposition. Second, the state legislature passed a bill requiring auto dealers to sell an increasing annual percentage of zero-emission trucks and vans starting in
2027.
* OFFSHORE WIN - The nation's largest offshore wind operation is set to be completed off the coast of Virginia by 2026. The Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind project includes 176 wind turbines
that are expected to save up to 5 million tons of CO2 emissions annually <http://click.emails.sierraclub.org/?qs=a3af2dc3590d628bc60fbe79e90cbed609a41c791d86efe1cce09d054258b21872c2842e7b0c29523ee81

* AMATEUR WILDLIFE CONTROL - Most wildlife conflicts are handled by trained professionals at state wildlife agencies. But the Iowa state legislature may pass a law that would allow citizens
to kill animals for being a "nuisance" on private property, without notifying state officials. The Iowa Chapter fears that the proposed law could lead to the unnecessary killing of
raccoons, opossums, and skunks and that the Iowa Department of Natural Resources could lose a key tool for assessing their populations <http://click.emails.sierraclub.org/?qs=a3af2dc3590d628b510a2b5

* ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST - Since 2015, high coal costs and lower demand during warmer winters have caused Pennsylvania's largest coal plant to operate below capacity <http://click.emails.sierracl
