The county executive position — a nonpartisan, four-year term position that represents the region at the state and federal level — will be a significant primary race to watch this election. This initiative is set to bring high-speed, affordable internet access to county residents in unserved and underserved areas, bridging the digital divide. It's meant to give accurate data and allow for the advocacy for responsible broadband development, which is pivotal to the successful implementation of this program. The Court’s 57 rulings touched topics ranging from free speech, redistricting, the environment, student loans, immigration and more. Through our partnership with the Local Government Legal Center, NACo submitted amicus briefs to advocate for county interests in several cases before the Court. Since 1967, the agency has presented the award annually to recognize outstanding performance in engineering expertise, leadership, community engagement, and industry involvement.
