Thank you for your email. Whether or not the City ends up attempting to build a new aquatic facility will depend first about seeking funding authority by a vote of the public. That has
yet to be scheduled, but the determination of the future of aquatics in our town will ultimately be up to the voters.

The aquatic center will be yet another boondoggle for the city. We have more 'recreation' options here than most towns, including established fitness centers and a municipal pool.
Get the YMCA out of the current muni pool. Replace personnel with residents interested in working there that care as their only 'special interest'. If needed, spend a fraction of
the proposed cost of a new complex on upgrading and maintaining the existing plant.
Please take care of what is already here, meaning, amongst other things, the potholed, dangerous streets, aged sewer infrastructure, the Cherry Street project, the gastly, well-over-budget
'welcome center' that is unkempt and looks vacant, the muni golf course and the 'non-choices' of renovations to it (look up 'leading question' formatingt to illustrate the 'evil of
the lessers' options 'offered'for the golf course) and any Fort Worden problems that the city has a hand in.
There is no transparency in this 'governmental' regime. The 'public comment' phase is an evasion. Elected officials' minds follow their own agendas and do not follow the will of the
people who elected you. Sad.
