STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
ADVISORY BOARD RESIGNATION re: BoH Consumer of Public Health Representative, Alexis"AY
Hawkins
ANALYSIS/STRATEGIC GOALS/PRO'S and CONS:
On April 22, 2023, BoH Member AJ Hawkins emailed BoH Chair Kees Kolff and the other BoH Members that
she was resigning from her position as the "Consumer of Public Health Representative," effective at the
adjournment of the BoH May 18, 2023 monthly meeting. Her reasons for resigning included feeling that she
was not"a good fit"for the position, and that changes in her life, including taking on a demanding second
job, have made it necessary for her to lessen her current commitments. She also mentioned feeling impacted
by negative public comments at the monthly meetings.
Chair Kolff thanked Member Hawkins for her important perspective and significant contributions to the BoH.
Efforts to find a replacement for the Consumer of Public Health Representative are on-going and it is
anticipated that a new member will be selected at the August 17, 2023 monthly meeting of the BoH.
RECOMMENDATION:
Accept the ADVISORY BOARD RESIGNATION re: BoH Consumer of Public Health Representative, Alexis
